Welcome to my blog. I do a lot of writing — a lot. In addition to staying current with my two books, The Eagle Court of Honor Book and The Scoutmaster’s Other Handbook, I write for Scouting magazine and Eagles’ Call, the magazine of the National Eagle Scout Association.
But there are lots of ideas that fall through the cracks. Hence this blog. I hope you enjoy it!

It was indeed a pleasure meeting you in Nashville, and on top of that, after reading some of your posts, I’m happy to remark how I thoroughly enjoy the style and feel of your writing. If you ever need any photos to embellish or enhance the content, just let me know. Looking forward to future contacts, and God bless the BSA!
Wondering if you have ever written something for fathers similar to the rose for mothers? I love the rose part but wanted to write something similar for the fathers but I am having a hard time. I was thinking of using a compass in place of the rose.
Great idea! Let me give that some thought.
Wondering if you have had any idea?
I thought about something like: A father is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in his son. It is an adaptation of a teaching quote. Ideas for turning it into part of the ceremony?
